British journalist Piers Morgan has revealed that on he sat down with Cristiano Ronaldo on his ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ segment where the Manchester United star had a lot to say about his career and what has been happening at the club since his return. Morgan tweeted that the explosive interview is sat to air on Wednesday and Thursday at 20h00 on TalkTV, the interview in which Ronaldo did say that he “feels betrayed” by the club.
In clips of the interview that Piers Morgan shared via his Twitter account, Ronaldo did say that he has seen no progress and no evolution at Old Trafford since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson retired as Man United manager in 2013. “Interesting point thathow the club as Manchester United after Sir, Ole, they bring sport director Ralf Rangnick, which is something that nobody understand. This guy’s not even a coach, a big club like Manchester United to bring a sport director surprised not only me (Cristiano) but the world. Nothing changed”, Ronaldo continues to speak in the clip. Even saying that not a lot has changed since his first spell at the club which surprised him a lot that no growth is actually visible at the club.
In another clip that Morgan shared via his Twitter, Ronaldo further says, “Honestly I shouldn’t say that I don’t know, but listen I don’t care people should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed, and I felt that some people they don’t want me here, not only this year but last year too”. This response by Ronaldo comes after Piers Morgan asked if he (Ronaldo) thinks they are trying to get rid of him at the club. Ronaldo was also quoted by Piers Morgan making comments on current Man United boss Erik Ten Hag relating to how he does not respect him because he does not receive respect from the former Ajax boss.
Ronaldo further added to his comments, speaking about the current Manchester United owners, the Glazer family. The Portuguese quoted saying on Morgan’s Pier Morgan Uncensored, “the owners of the club they don’t care about the club, about professional sport”.
Some fans have however aimed some hateful comment towards Ronaldo following the surfacing of this interview, some saying that it was disrespectful to the club and some United faithful calling for Ronaldo to leave the club following his comments. However, many other loyal Ronaldo supporters have a sounding backing of the Portugal captain claiming that he is doing exactly what all the United fans have been wanting over the years with the Glazers board exposed. A lot more will surface when the interview launches, but Ronaldo might have already played his last game ever with Manchester United.
