English Premier League – Betting Previews

Wolves v Southampton (22:00)

H: 1.30

D: 2.10

A: 2.30

Both sides come into the game in similar form, with only a three-point gap separating them. The loss of Ings hasn’t affected Southampton much as of yet, with Che Adams finding the back of the net in their last outing, but against a side such as Wolves, the loss of their main man may become more evident. Wolves fell short in their game against Leicester prior to the break, losing 1-0, and Nuno will be doing everything in his powers to prevent his side from repeating that display come Monday. Expect Wolves to close the gap and take all three points.

Burnley v Crystal Palace (19:30)

H: 1.80

D: 2.00

A: 1.70

Palace will be looking to take advantage of an underperforming Burnley side, who will be desperate for a win, and hopefully they can continue their positive start to the season. The Eagles have started much better than expected so far this season, already with four wins to their name, and Roy Hodgson will be expecting to turn that into five come Monday evening. Burnley are yet to win a game, losing five and drawing two, but the inform, pacey Palace side may be too much, and perhaps Sean Dyche and his men will have to wait that little bit longer before they are to register their first win of the season.

Tottenham v Manchester City

H: 3.00

D: 2.80

A: 0.80

It is that time of the season again, Pep vs Mourinho, in what will be the 23rd meeting between these two managerial giants. With Spurs arguably exceeding expectations for this season, and City underperforming, expect a closely contested game. Despite their slow start, City have only lost one game, and a win from their game in hand will see them shoot straight up the table, therefore their current mid-table position shouldn’t be focused on too much. Expect them to find their form sooner rather than later and, for Pep, what better way to do that against one of his arch-rivals, away from home.

Manchester United v West Bromwich

H: 0.30

D: 4.50

A: 8.00

Both Manchester clubs find themselves underperforming, but one is dramatically worse off than the other. Manchester United have already fallen to defeat three times this season and, with their next tough fixture, on paper, being their blue neighbours in three weeks’ time, they need to pick up some valuable points up until then, starting with West Brom. The Baggies are yet to win a game this season and have scored just one goal from their last five games. Despite it only being three times this season, when United do win, they win in style, scoring three or more goals in each of their victories thus far, so expect United to pile on the misery, winning this one comfortably.

Fulham v Everton

H: 2.80

D: 2.60

A: 0.90

Now with a win under their belts, Fulham are looking better each week and are starting to get into their stride. They were unlucky not to earn a point against West Ham in their last game, conceding in the 91st minute. On the contrary, Everton are heading in a downwards spiral, losing their last three games, and with only one win from their last five. It is safe to say that their fairy tale start has come to an end, however, The Toffee’s are still on course for a very good season and can turn their form around with a win this weekend. Their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United saw Ancelotti losing three league games on the bounce, the first time since November 2006, and he will ensure his players do not extend this run come Sunday. Expect an Everton win.

Sheffield United v West Ham

H: 2.00

D: 2.10

A: 1.40

Out of a possible 24, Sheffield United have amassed just one single point so far this season. After their impressive first season back in the topflight last year, The Blades look a shell of their former selves, however, with games against Wolves, Arsenal, Liverpool, City and Chelsea already out of the way, Chris Wilder’s men will feel that now is the time to start collecting points and rise from bottom. Although, to start a winning run against this current West Ham side is a difficult task, with The Hammers yet another team this season who are exceeding expectations. West Ham find themselves in a similar position to Sheffield, having already played the top sides, and both teams will be wanting to make up for lost points this Sunday. Expect a close game but a game that may see West Ham edge out as winners.
