Ecuador v Colombia
An interesting game in store here as Ecuador are shaping up to be the surprise package of the CONMEBOL qualifying campaign with their entertaining brand of football yielding two successive high-scoring wins over Uruguay and Bolivia respectively. Colombia, meanwhile, were easily beaten by Uruguay last week and will be desperate to respond after what was their worst display of the campaign to date. Carlos Queiroz will have them fired up for this encounter and they should find the net against this open Ecuador outfit, but only Brazil have scored more than the hosts after three games so goals at both ends or Over 2.5 Goals look highly likely here.
Venezuela v Chile
Despite a battling performance against Brazil on Friday night in which they only lost by a solitary goal, Venezuela remain pointless after three games and they are yet to find the net. That is arguably harsh on them given that their performances have perhaps deserved more, but the fact remains that they desperately need to need to pick up some points here to avoid being caught adrift in qualification. Visiting Chile – who picked up their first win of the campaign against Peru last time out – will not be in a charitable mood however. The Chileans have won the last five meetings between the two teams and simply have greater quality in their ranks compared to the hosts so they are fancied to sneak an away win here in a match that is likely to be low scoring.
