Many have said Conor Mcgregor is now in the final stages of his “real” UFC career, following his money making exhibition match with Floyd Mayweather. McGregor cashed in, moved into Proper 12 whiskey production, and went on to live like a rockstar.

In his early interviews before he became a household name, the Irishman, was known for his “prophetic fight predictions” and his underdog story.

Now, since the fame and fortunes, McGregor has made a character shift, to a taunting “in your face” fighter, especially during press conferences and events. The Irishman would always make a spectacle of it, for obvious marketing reasons, and to sell pay per views. This character has boded well for him and as he steps into the ring for his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier. Conor may be a little out of his depth here, with the well balanced more clinical Poirier.

Conor made easy work of Poirier in their first fight, beating him in the first round. Conor looked like the high performance athlete with his relaxed fighting style and clinical punching technique. Poirier looks like he has come a long way as a fighter, and he made that statement clear with a clinical fight against McGregor who looked like half the fighter he was.

McGregor, 22-5, beat Poirier by TKO at UFC 178 in 2014 but lost his most recent bout to the same opponent by the same method at UFC 257.

Tyson Fury made claims that McGregor wasn’t training as hard as he should be. And predicted the Irishman to go down.

Prediction: Poirier to Win
